So I’ve made it to Day 2. It doesn’t feel like much of an accomplishment but hopefully I’ll be able to get to a big number like 100 and it’ll feel like something huge. Either way, it’s a way to get me writing again. That’s what I keep telling myself. It’s a way to keep writing. So, let’s write something.

I woke up tired.

Awake. Let liquor lick her.

Lie under my tongue.

Today is day one

Tomorrow will be day two

Done and done and done

That’s kinda lame so let’s work on a few more.

Stand up, mostly. See

the sky as it sings, at last

too loudly inspired.

Songs sought from seeing

something: incensed to passion

on Easy Street, love.

Rain bares remembrance

of a simpler time before

sunlight. And I stand.

Making a Comeback

Hey internet! How have you been without me? Probably just fine but let’s pretend it was a terrible absence and your life just hasn’t been the same without me. Cool? Cool.

So what brings about this return to blogging glory? Well, in all honesty, I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I’ve been feeling creatively blocked lately due to a variety of reasons that are mostly still around. But last night I was talking to my friend Emily on FB chat and she was telling me that she misses my blog and that I should start writing something simple everyday. Her suggestion was haiku. I think it’s a hilarious idea. She even wrote one to start me off and I’ll share it with you.

But I’m not Asian

Slightly questionable, but still a pretty solid poem. So everyday you’ll at least get a haiku update from me. And I’m planning on doing this until the end of November. Maybe further. That’s all for now. I’ll probably also be putting up some new stuff later today about where my life is at.

I follow the Daniel MacIvor’s blog. And I love it. I think it’s a really great portrait of an artist’s process and work in Canadian theatre. And I just kinda love everything he’s every done.

This is a my favourite part of his most recent blog about the difference between American theatre and its Canadian equivalent.

Siminovitch is just the name of somebody’s lawyer and Dora is an explorer. And that’s not a bad thing, it’s just about the work. The work the work the work.

My friend Alex sent me a link to a glorious website that will create all the artwank anyone could ever need for grant applications or whatever at the push of a button. It’s hilarious. I pushed the button at least 25 times and this version is my personal favourite.

My work explores the relationship between the body and life as perfomance.

With influences as diverse as Munch and John Cage, new synergies are generated from both simple and complex layers.

Ever since I was a teenager I have been fascinated by the theoretical limits of the mind. What starts out as hope soon becomes corroded into a cacophony of lust, leaving only a sense of what could have been and the prospect of a new beginning.

As temporal forms become frozen through emergent and critical practice, the viewer is left with an insight into the inaccuracies of our era.

It almost makes me want to produce this show.
